Every morning when I'm driving home from work, I listen to the entertainment report from one of our local radio stations. I can't remember the last time I heard a report where I didn't respond with an, "Are you serious?" or "What the F?" or "That is the dumbest thing I ever freaking heard?" or, my personal favorite, "Why the hell are you even talking about that?"
I know that the whole point of these reports is to basically let people into the screwed up lives of entertainers and all of the stupid bullshit they do. But every now and then, I like to hear something good. This morning for example ... Catherine Heigl and her husband got a quick mention for adopting a baby from South Korea (I think). That put a smile on my face and it reminded me how lucky I am to be a parent. I also love to hear some good gossip because I'm a sucker for it. But there's a big difference between gossip and just plain worthless reporting. Do I really give a shit if Amy Whinehouse is going to rehab for a 14th time? Why would reporters waste everyone's time?
I also read all of the entertainment headlines on numerous websites, looking for something fun to read about. I always find something to read and, believe it or not, I get pissed off at what I read all the time. Why do I put myself through this? Why do I put myself in a situation that will undoubtedly put me in a bad mood? It's simple. I do it for the same reason I watched 'Brett Michael's Rock of Love and Daisy of Love ... I'm hooked. I can't help it and I have absolutely no intention of stopping. It's part of who I am and who I will continue to be. As pissed off as I get, it's entertaining and that's what matters.
So, this blog is a place to put that bad mood into writing. I don't know how often I will write on this blog, but whenever something in the entertainment world really gets my blood boiling, you will see a new post. Whether it's something on a TV show (I won't even get into this season of America's Got Talent), a movie, a news report ... anything.
Ronadom thoughts:
1) As big of fan as I was and as sad as it was ... shut the f up about Michael Jackson! Time to move on people. He has been at the top of the entertainment headlines for 4 months, and I am sure that with the huge amount of famous people and bullshit going on out there, there is something else to talk about. He even has his own page on the entertainment section of MSNBC's website!
2) Why haven't they executed Jaycee's rapist/kidnapper? Oh wait, we must be waiting for a trial because he deserves all the civil rights as everyone else has; including his prisoners of 18 years.
3) Do we have to keep on talking about American Idol?
4) I'm never watching America's Got Talent again! No disrespect to the winner, but there were far more deserving people. Time for new judges
5) Don't you all realize that you're giving that toolbox Kayne West everything he wants? As much as I don't like him for being a self-centered, disrespectful ass monkey ... he's a freaking genius! I miss Eazy-E and NWA.
Till next time
